Delta crash deepens Boston fog tragedy
Delta Flight 723 from Burlington to Manchester failed to clear a three foot seawall in pea soup fog at Logan Airport. The crash killed seven including crew. one survivor later died. Investigators from the NTSB gathered evidence, interviewed witnesses, and prepared for public hearings to determine if instrument or human error caused the disaster. The jet, arriving on Runway 4, struck the seawall and burned, injuring a surviving Marine sergeant.
