Legal challenge questions Vermont license suspension rules
A class action filed in U S District Court challenges the Motor Vehicle Department's procedures for suspending driving licenses. Vermont Legal Aid's Roger Kohn argues lack of standards and due process, proposing a point system, while the state defends suspension as a privilege and warns against broad revocation of 8000 licenses. The suit cites a Middlebury woman's no contest speeding conviction as a test case.
