CVPSC issued a progress report on a 450000 kilowatt nuclear plant planned for operation in Vermont by fall 1970. Harold L. Durgin of CVPS said land acquisitions total about 1,302 acres in Shoreham Bridport and Vernon with more options in progress. Bids from GE and Westinghouse are due in May, with site studies by Ebasco Services guiding final location. The plant's output is expected to be cheaper than current sources and will be offered to all Vermont distributors at cost.
