11 Percent Circulation Gain Shown In Library Report
Bennington Free Library reports an 11 percent rise in circulation for 1964, with gains across all areas. A simplified adult charging system reduced cards and receipts, while juvenile circulation rose 9 percent despite fewer juvenile patrons due to moving or transferring. Significant gifts included the Florence Holden estate and Bennington Garden Club donations. The Friends of the Library funded the new adult charging system, and the library hosted civic meetings in its social room. Financials show receipts of 28,039.49 with year-end balance 30,993.33 and a $1,000 gift from the Garden Club committed for 1965 purchases.
