Mt Anthony district high school bond plan affects Benhi building use
Officials from Mt Anthony Union and Bennington Graded School districts told residents that if the May bond passes to build a new union high school, the Benhi building would be remodeled for grades 7 and 8 as a junior high under union control. The district would assume debt service and maintenance, but not ownership, with 11 years of bonds remaining and a $14,225 annual debt service. The plan includes a $25,000 conversion budget with 30 percent state aid, moving one shop to the new high school, and expanding the junior high library while handling cafeteria meals at the new site.
