The Great Brendini and the Magic Pastor
The Rev. David Bort of Sunderland, pastor of West Arlington Methodist Church, is a magician known as The Great Brendini. He traces early lessons in Sault Ste Marie during WWII, where barrage balloons and smoke screens guarded the city as a government magician taught him. He now performs pure entertainment magic, distinguishes three types of magicians, and explains misdirection as core to illusion while noting children are challenging audiences.
