Bennington School Board weighs prefab building option
Bennington's elementary board discussed exploring a prefab building from Syme Leasing of Manchester. They compared costs to Granger’s rejected plan, noting lower basic construction and a two month build time but considering depreciation and a 12 foot ceiling in the multipurpose room. Rental increases by First Baptist Church and other local churches raise annual classroom costs, prompting tax exemption talk to aid senior voters.

Roots of Vermont growth tied to existing industry
Industrial Development Director Roland Loveless says 80 percent of land purchases additions and new equipment since 1960 have come from existing industry. David Emery outlines a technical services program to boost profits payrolls and the tax base with an educational extension at the University of Vermont and field counseling through Norwich University. The plan will provide access to industrial and business data from state federal and university sources for targeted problems. The saucer with 150 mph potential could fly at 5000 feet and land at any gas station, says Moller, noting its round shape suits vertical landing.
