Manchester Bar ber says way to election vote
Manchester Bennington attorney Norton R Barber advised selectmen at a special May election to expand the town board from three to five. A group challenged the legality of the May election, with thirteen candidates already filing for the two seats. Officials will decide whether to cancel the election portion of the town meeting. The dispute centers on whether towns may elect new members outside March town meeting, with supporters arguing a statute allows a five member board at a special meeting and opponents contending officials must be elected in March.
