Nixon Degree Protested at Rochester University
Rochester University faced strong student and faculty protests over awarding an honorary degree to former Vice President Richard Nixon as commencement speaker June 5. Four Seriously Injured In Crash on East Road
A husband and wife with their two young daughters were badly hurt Friday afternoon when their southbound car left the East Road near the Shaftsbury Bennington line and rolled end over end into a maple tree. The parents suffered facial head and possible internal injuries and severe burns. the two children were listed as fair. Five youths in a Silk Road crash were treated at Putnam Memorial Hospital.
