Education Commissioner A. John Holden told the Senate Judiciary Committee he ordered removal of ideological material from state CD survival training courses without pressure from Gov. Hoff or others. He cited overlong expansions and inaccuracies in the lesson plan and named Harold C. Raynolds as a critic of the text.
Governor Philip Hoff presses federal officials for expanded area redevelopment and public works. He testifies on Area Redevelopment Act amendments, seeks milk order changes, and asks Navy contracts. Hoff urges favorable ARD loans for Newport Plastics, Atlas Foundry, and Lyndonville firms amid debate on a $500 million cut.

He plans cabinet talks and may seek support from Social Credit and New Democrats. Liberal Lester B. Pearson ready to form a government if Diefenbaker resigns. Results: Liberals 128 seats, Conservatives 96, Social Credit 24, New Democrats 17.
