Calley case prosecutor blames Nixon for weakening justice

Snow Falls Across Bennington Area on April 7
It snowed this morning in the Bennington area with only 1 inch at Bennington Airport while other sections faced heavier falls. By noon the snow ended and spring seemed nearer. Louis Holton, formerly of Bennington, said he traveled over the mountain from Wordsboro, taking over two hours from 7 am. He noted the Berkshires and parts of Vermont saw nearly a foot, aiding hopes for an extended ski season.

Bennington Plans 160 Low-Income Garden Apartments
Edward J. Kuhn of Jerene Enterprises announced plans to build 160 low income two story garden apartments off Willow Road on 20 acres of optioned land formerly the Robert Thompson property. The $2.5 million HUD 236 project requires rezoning. Jerene has completed a 60 unit Burlington project and a Barre project. The hearing, called by the Bennington Planning Commission, addressed zoning changes for multi residential use.

Vermont House backs landmark 18 year old rights measure
The Vermont House rejected extending residency rules for elections and moved toward final approval of a measure granting 18-year-olds full rights including voting and drinking. The Senate opened debate on a separate constitutional amendment to lower the voting age from 21 to 18. A Sept. 7 voter referendum on the committee plan was defeated 113-33.
