Pecos Kid memories live on through whittling and verse
New Hampshire born veteran Paul Babb, 70, lives at the Vermont Soldiers Home where he carves five inch horse figures from soft pine and writes poems about the old West and his rodeo days. He started as a cowboy near Pecos on the Triple B Ranch and later fought in Italy with Torger Tokle. He continues his hobby daily using a Case pocketknife and home tools to craft detailed, historical freight train models and new horses for the display.
