ICC hearing on St Johnsbury and LaMoille County Rail line rescheduled
The Interstate Commerce Commission pushed the St Johnsbury and LaMoille County Railroad abandonment hearing to April 25. The line between St Johnsbury and Swanton with offices in Morrisville lost about 500000 dollars in the last year. Public Service Board Chairman Ernest Gibson III opposes curtailment and has hired Thomas Lynch to represent the board. The hearing had been set for January 24. At Derby Line, 125 IAM Local 1829 pickets blocked an oil truck from Metropolitan Petroleum, and troopers dispersed them as the driver refused to cross the line.
