Theft from Melbourne to Seymour Express Train
A theft occurred Thursday night on a railway truck between Melbourne and Mangalore. Six dozen shirts were stolen after a tarpaulin was raised at Seymour station. Police Court Fines For Riotous Conduct and Thefts
At the police court on Tuesday War Holmes and Daniel Clarkson were each fined five pounds in default one month for riotous behavior on the previous Saturday evening. Clarkson received three months for petty larceny stealing a pair of boots from a man lying drunk in a right of way. The boots were taken while the man slept. John Williams was fined six pounds for breaking windows and for using obscene language, in default one month. Wm Chandler was sentenced to one month for larceny of a towel.

Spectators packed the Badda ginnie grounds for a 120 yard foot race between Gordon Paget and Henry Copeman. Despite Paget being the favorite at 2 to 1, Copeman won easily by four yards. F Macle officiated as starter and sent them off cleanly as a large crowd watched the event.
