Dangerous Fluorescent Tubes Found in Rubbish Heap

Health Inspector F Watson told Borough Council that broken fluorescent light tubes on the rubbish tip are highly dangerous. A cut could hospitalize a patient for months and the tubes contain poison. Discarded tubes must be disposed of properly to prevent child access. Dr Weidemann urged burial of these tubes as instructed by manufacturers. Dr Spitzer echoed a warning to parents and children about the danger.

Sheep farmer seeks damages over dogs that killed sheep

Kenneth Greaves of Benalla testified that two dogs a grey hound and a black kelpie attacked his flock on the neighbour’s property. He saw six dead sheep and several injured after the February incident. The neighbour admitted dog ownership but offered £5 for two sheep, which was refused. The case continues as lawyers argue the dogs did or did not attack all sheep and the extent of damages.

Inter-School Sports At Benalla Matches Result Strong Wins

Wangaratta technical school toured Benalla for a day of matches in banker ball hockey and football against High School teams. Benalla dominated football 12.11 to 2.5 with Barry Connolly Trevor Gordon Ken Glaniter Brian Mullarvey Jon Thompson among top players. Second football team won 1.10 to 1.8. Basketball at Gardens saw Benalla first team win 43 to 20 as hockey followed with a 13 nil victory signaling steady improvement.
