Early Morning Train Service Delayed by Coal Shortages
The Victorian Railways Secretary told Borough Council that war coal and manpower shortages prevent restoring the 6.50 pm and 6.42 pm Albury Melbourne trains. The department hinted at using one of 280 Tp. Dissel rail cars for Bright to Melbourne, but no vehicles have been funded or deployed yet. The council was told the proposal cannot be inaugurated soon and a letter will be received.
