Insurance grievance before District 31 board heard
District No. 31 held a regular meeting Tuesday night to hear an grievance filed by elementary teacher Richard Evenson of J. W. Smith School alleging the district must pay the health insurance premium for single coverage. Evenson cites a contract obligation as the legislature added mandatory extra coverage. A committee will meet with Evenson to formally hear the grievance. The board also awarded bids: Standard Lumber Co. of Bemidji $15,686.77 for carpentry house materials and Lakeland Construction Co. of Bemidji $4,400 for welding facility construction at Area Vocational Institute. Attending were Nancy Ertresvaag, R. E. Bengtson, Wayland Jones, Frank Goodell. M. J. Haack and William Schwartz were absent.
