Committee forms to study Bemidji sewer issue
A Citizen's Advisory Committee was organized Monday night at City Hall with Bill Corrigan elected chairman and Willys Nord as secretary. The group will report to the City Council on sewer site and system type to address Pollution Control Agency orders to update the disposal system and stop pollution.

Fire destroys two downtown Mahnomen businesses
Two main street buildings in Mahnomen burned Monday night, the Red Apple Cafe and the Wild Rice Garage, after a boiler explosion. Firefighters from Mahnomen, aided by volunteers from Fertile Fosston and Bagley, fought the blaze but could not save the structures. No casualties were reported.
