Many Beltrami Families Eligible for Food Stamps Do Not Use Them

Beltrami County Welfare officials note many eligible residents do not purchase food stamps. Stamps are sold at eight locations including the courthouse basement, Blackduck, Kelliher, Solway, Fourtown, Nebish, Teastrike, and Pennington. A 1974 selling schedule will keep the same locations. Hit and run collision near Bemidji damages car

Deputies investigated a hit and run about 7 p.m. on a township road two miles west of Bemidji. Robert Horton of Route 2 reported $400 damage after a collision with a vehicle that did not stop. A Bridgestone bicycle and tools were stolen from Jerry Snustad after boxes fell from his truck.
