Red Lake housing project trains residents to build homes
The Red Lake Reservation housing program expands self help housing and job training. Since 1965 a sequence of HUD and BIA coordinated builds has produced 270 standard homes, with 30 residents trained in carpentry, masonry, electrical and plumbing. Plans include modular and prefab homes near Red Lake Mills in Redby to boost ownership over rentals.
