City requires hair coverings for food handlers under local and state rules

State and city require food handlers to wear caps nets or hair restraints. City Ordinance 382 Section 6 item 16 imposes fines up to 100 dollars or 90 days in jail. Licensing rules for unused vehicles in Minnesota

Residents voice concerns at Minnesota hearing on state programs

Energy conservation discussion to be held at Bemidji State College

A local informational public meeting on energy conservation was proposed after a Thursday meeting led by Extension Agent Elmo Skare. Charles H. Fuchsman of the Center for Environmental Studies at BSC will arrange resources and set a possible date and site within a week.

Nixon signs school lunch aid bill increases aid

President Nixon signed a bill raising the federal share in school lunch programs from eight to ten cents per lunch. The expanded aid covers reduced price and free meals and raises eligibility to families earning up to 7,200 dollars annually, lowering previous income limits to 6,300 dollars. The secretary of agriculture must extend the free milk program to any requesting school.

White House lawyer J. Fred Buzhardt pledged to explain why a midnight set tape recorder began recording in the afternoon. Testimony in U.S. District Court showed a basement machine may have switched on between 4:35 and 4:55 p.m. on April 16, contradicting prior testimony.
