Trees for the future Beltrami County gets new growth
In spring 1971 a damp ground fire near Pinewood burned 2000 acres of Jack and Norway pine. After wind shifts and humidity, the blaze was stopped, allowing 115000 trees to be planted in Beltrami County and nearby counties. The IRR&R and county crews expect $2.1 million in county income over 140 years and $209 million gross economic impact from timber.
