The Bemidji area note explains Nymore formed in 1903 by Porter Nye and L A Moore, yielding the name Nymore. It lasted 13 years and was dissolved Sept 30, 1916 following a petition by 146 property owners.

A 10 member conference committee announced a bipartisan tax package that keeps income and sales taxes funding property taxes while expanding credits for homeowners farmers renters seniors and businesses. It shifts more relief to homeowners and farms with a 45 percent homestead credit up to 325 dollars and extends the farm credit. a new 2 per mille payroll tax funded relief to offset revenue losses.
Senate testimony by James McCord Jr. says White House aide John Caulfield told him Nixon was aware of clemency offers and that results would be relayed to the President. McCord, on trial for the June 17 1972 Watergate break in, described money for silence and future presidential messages. He denied CIA involvement and lamented his role in the case.
The Minnesota House approved a 3 million dollar summer job program to provide up to 4,000 jobs for people under 22 this summer and 3,400 in 1974. The plan, administered by the Department of Manpower Services, pays up to 1.60 per hour for up to 10 weeks. The Senate also passed a reporters shield bill and measures on nonprofit health maintenance organizations and abortion by doctors only.
Astronauts and engineers across the United States prepare for a delayed Skylab repair flight to fit a sun shield. The crew including Charles Conrad Jr Joseph Kerwin and Paul Weitz faced a five day postponement as a thermal shield ripped away exposing the craft to heat. controllers stabilized internal temperatures at 105 degrees by tilting the station.
Area Forestry Supervisor John Rodewald reports lingering smoke but fire at Pinewood under control as humidity stays low and no burning permits are issued. About 15 men monitor a 2600 acre area with 100000 dollars in timber loss. homeowners Earl Wallace Larry Fleck and Adolph Schumann affected. Schumann hospitalized. Seventh Day Adventist Collection Center notes strong clothing response and requests small appliances and general household items.
