Abandoned Nymore Cemetery Found Near Grant Street
The village of Nymore used the lot on Grant Street as an early burial site before incorporation into Bemidji. Headstones dated 1900 to 1912 were rediscovered by the city during park planning. heirs could not all be found and law prevents moving graves. Erwin Mittelholtz explains the site remains moved and preserved.

Shootout in St Paul Leaves One Dead and Two Wounded
Police described a Thursday night shootout at 307 Laurel Ave as fatal for Clarence Lewis, 30, who died after being found with a shotgun at the scene. Eight wardens to enforce Leech Lake reservation laws
