Theft spree recovery spans four counties in Bemidji area

Law enforcement recovered more than three truckloads of stolen property from a rural Bemidji home after a two year burglary spree across Hubbard Clearwater Beltrami and Koochiching counties. Two suspects were arrested earlier this week. The joint effort involved Bemidji Police Department the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and four county sheriff departments.

Teen survives four hours in submerged car in Lake Champlain

James Stark, 18, of Keesville, spent about four hours trapped in an upside down car after it slid off Route 9 into Lake Champlain near Plattsburgh. He crawled into the back seat where an air pocket helped him endure until he reached shore and reported the incident. Troopers ticketed him for failing to stay to the right.
