Detroit AP reports Chrysler Corp chairman John Riccardo was paid 700,066 in 1976, the highest for the automaker. He led Chrysler out of losses as the firm posted a record net earnings of 422.6 million. Pay breakdown includes 245,833 salary 445,900 bonuses and 8,333 corporate thrift contributions.
Gov. Dixy Lee Ray says President Carter is wrong to doubt breeder reactors. She predicts experiments will continue despite his call for a re evaluation. She calls breeder reactors safe economical and a necessary part of the energy program.
Former Senate Majority Leader Mike Mansfield, 74, has been named the 95th recipient of the University of Notre Dame Laetare Medal, awarded annually since 1883 to an outstanding American Catholic. The university announced the honor on Saturday.
