Seventh Grade Campout Highlights Winter Nature Study
The Squaw Lake School seventh grade class and 23 students joined a three day campout March 7 to 9 at Bald Eagle Center. Activities included photography, map making, timber cruising, snow ecology, star study, trapping, and insect collection with guidance from teachers and Bemidji State College advisors. The workshop coordinated by Dr. Robert Christie and five agencies drew about 80 teachers and students with 23 instructors, emphasizing hands on outdoor learning and environmental stewardship.
