Summer swimming lessons offered at junior high pool

Summer Red Cross swimming lessons are set at the Junior High Pool with three sessions for up to 600 students. Registration Saturday June 17 9 am to noon and Sunday June 18 2 to 4 pm. Sessions run 10 class days over two weeks per session.

Judge acquits Chippewa man in draft violation case

U.S. District Judge Miles Lord acquitted 22 year old Steven Rubid of two draft violation charges after the government rested without calling witnesses. Rubid, who sought conscientious objector status under the Indian Midewin faith, testified his religion guides his life on the Sandy Lake Reservation.

Recreation program discussed at city Parks meeting
