A mysterious wildlife die-off is spreading through central Florida fresh waters from Lake Apopka toward Lake Dora. New Minnesota tax plan stalled in Senate House clash looms

No tolls for Cass calls effective Sunday
Bemidji area telephone users will be able to call Cass Lake and surrounding towns without long distance charges starting Sunday June 13. Northwestern Bell manager Howard D. Menge explained dialing Cass Lake numbers as listed in the directory and that the digit 1 will no longer be required after next Sunday. The plan, budgeted at 68000, funds new dial switching and equipment in Bemidji and Cass Lake as part of a broader service improvement program costing 775000 to expand the base rate area and create two zones, with underground cable work beginning in July and August to bury over 140 miles of cable with conduit where needed.

No politics in Vietnam says HHH
Senator Humphrey, defending the Democratic Party line, rejects Kennedy’s charge that Nixon’s Vietnam policy is politically motivated. He says the President seeks peace though slower action and denies cynicism or partisan aims. The White House counters Clifford’s POW timing remarks as political exploitation. Rogers in Paris says North Vietnam’s position on prisoners remains unchanged.

Senate limits draft for first time in 30 years
The Senate approved a ceiling of 130000 for this year and 140000 for fiscal 1973, with the Pentagon estimating 114000. The vote clears the way for debates on Indochina policy and the McGovern Hatfield amendment to cut funds, while other proposals to lower drafts were rejected.
