Wynegar's homer erases triple play embarrassment
Minnesota catcher Butch Wynegar erased a rare triple play by homering for two runs in the eighth inning to spark a 7 2 victory over the Cleveland Indians. Dan Ford opened Minnesota's scoring and Wynegar followed with the big hit after Cleveland's Rick Manning and Ford misplayed a ball for a costly play. The win moved Minnesota to four wins in five games as Cleveland slumped to five losses in six.
