Laporte couple marks 70 years of marriage in Park Rapids
The Niles couple James and Mrs. Niles celebrate seventy years of marriage this May. They met as teens in Annandale and married in 1906. They recall Laporte’s early days with lumbering, railroads, and a town fire, now living at Sunset Nursing Home in Park Rapids. Their family includes six children, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty six great grandchildren. They stay active with crafts and social events and plan for a 75th anniversary.
