CAP Fishing Derby Draws 500 Despite Cold Wind
About 500 people joined the 10th Annual Civil Air Patrol Fishing Derby as 21 entries were recorded. Tom Gennes of Bemidji won game fish with a 1 lb 13 oz northern and a trolling motor. Marcel Thible earned second with a 10 oz walleye and a five band radio. Other winners included Shelly Hanse for a bicycle with a 12 oz perch and Tracy Zachman for a sled with a 10 oz perch. Nina Thompson won a 14 ft aluminum boat, Vern Wrolstad a 2 hp motor in the drawings. Proceeds go to local CAP activities.
