The move unlocks increased federal funding up to 80 percent for public works and adds $130,000 for Bemidji’s industrial park sewer and water project.
Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing faces federal charges for failing to report income diverted for political contributions. Bert S. Cross and Irwin R. Hansen, both former 3M executives, are charged with conspiring to defraud the United States on 1963 to 1969 returns and with filing false returns for 1968 and 1969. Hansen could face up to 11 years in prison and $20,000 in fines if convicted.
