Enrollees in Operation Mainstream aid forest projects
Operation Mainstream provides part time work for older citizens under a Labor Department contract with the Forest Service. In Minnesota 37 positions exist with 19 in Chippewa National Forest and 11 from Blackduck Ranger Station, yielding timber stand improvements, brush burning, and public area repairs while building skills and assisting forest operations.
