HUD to subsidize 1000 Minnesota homes under revised program
The Department of Housing and Urban Development will subsidize about 1000 single family homes in Minnesota under revised Section 235 money. Funds are statewide with two thirds for the metropolitan area and one third for rural areas. Final regulations set income limits, mortgage caps, and a 90 year term with minimum six percent down payment. Local HUD offices will soon seek builders and lenders for new construction and substantial rehabilitation portions, and interested parties should obtain FHA 295 applications before starting work.
