Liquor License Revoked for Cass Lake Private Club

The Minnesota Liquor Control Commission revoked the Ponderosa Ranch liquor license near Cass Lake accusing Mary L. and Ralph B. Church of discriminatory practices. The July 15 1974 incident involved two Caucasians admitted while three Chippewa Indians were refused entry. Beltrami County approves highway and welfare pay raise

Assistant County Attorney Frederick Wedder announced a one year contract settlement with Beltrami County highway employees and Welfare workers. Highway workers receive a 75 dollar monthly across the board raise with some highway positions raised up to 50 dollars monthly. Welfare workers gain a two step increase averaging over 9 percent effective January first.
