Trade Balance Swings To Record January Deficit

The Commerce Department reports January imports outpaced exports by 1.67 billion dollars, the deepest monthly deficit on record. Exports fell 7.8 percent while imports rose 2.3 percent as severe winter storms disrupted production and shipping, with 1.25 million workers out of work at the peak.
