Amin orders Americans held in Uganda ahead of meeting

Ugandan President Idi Amin orders about 200 to 250 Americans, mostly missionaries, barred from leaving Uganda until a Monday 11 a.m. meeting in Kampala. The U.S. government is urged to address its own rights abuses as a condition of departure, with West Germany assisting within possibilities.

Senate committee backs determinate sentencing bill

A Minnesota Senate committee approved a determinate sentencing bill abolishing the parole board and setting fixed terms. Beltrami County Planning Commission to Meet Monday

The Beltrami County Planning Commission will convene Monday at 7 30 p m in the courthouse board room to review four plats for preliminary or final approval. Moose Lake Township plats Pimushe Estates and Wolds North Shore seek final approval. Riverview in Ten Lake Township requests preliminary approval. Bardwell Addition in Northern Township seeks preliminary approval. Also on the agenda are a DNR letter about Marquette Manor on the Schoolcraft River Bemidji Township and review of by laws plus planning activities for 1977.
