Teenage gunmen surrender after Dallas hostage siege

Two teenage robbers who held 22 hostages for over eight hours in northeast Dallas surrendered at 8 46 a m. as nearly 100 officers surrounded the Inner Circle Lounge. Mil ton A Frank 18 of Dallas escaped a Terrell state hospital. his companion known as Shotgun remained unnamed. The pair demanded a car with gas and a plane, released hostages gradually and got help from the suspect’s wife who spoke to him.

Beltrami County Board Hears Road and Ordinance Items

Experimental city site chosen for Minnesota project

The Minnesota Experimental City Authority selected a site 18 miles south of Grand Rapids in Aitkin and Cass Counties for a 250000 person urban experiment. The 7 to 2 vote ruled out Douglas County near Alexandria and freezes public development pending legislative action. Wayne Thompson cited forest land, growth flexibility, and existing regional planning as advantages and opposition from residents at both sites continues as $1.2 million more planning funds are reviewed.
