Flu vaccination moratorium lifted for elderly and ill

The U S health secretary lifted the vaccination moratorium allowing seniors and chronically ill to receive shots for A Victoria flu, with swine flu vaccine also offered though the moratorium remains on vaccines containing serum for swine flu. The Miami nursing home outbreak of A Victoria flu prompted the change while officials caution no US swine flu outbreak exists this year.

Nine year old girl dies in farm accident near Bagley

A 9 year old girl, Lisa Gray, died after falling into the power take off of an auger behind a tractor on the family farm in Nora Township near Bagley. She was pronounced dead on arrival at Bagley Community Hospital. Deputies investigated and funeral arrangements were pending with Cease Funeral Home in Bagley.

Elk debate fuels Grygla area tension over DNR plan

In Beltrami County Grygla residents and the DNR clash over the Wapiti wildlife management area proposal affecting about 34 000 acres near Northwood and Big Grass.
