Black guerrillas attacked the Musami Roman Catholic mission 36 miles from Salisbury killing seven white missionaries. The staff of eight white workers was rounded up and shot. Three Jesuit priests and four Dominican nuns died, with a Jesuit priest wounded but not seriously.
In New Delhi aides to Prime Minister Indira Gandhi debated campaign strategy after opponents drew two to one in weekend rallies. Nearly 200000 people packed the Delhi fairgrounds Sunday cheering calls for Mrs. Gandhi’s ouster and an end to the 19 month emergency ahead of next month’s parliamentary elections.
