Motorman blamed for deadly Chicago Loop crash
Chicago transit officials attributed the rush hour Loop elevated crash to motorman Stephen Martin, amid a death toll of 11 and about 200 injured. CTA Chairman James McDonough said the system remains safe and cited possible violations of rules for proceeding at a flashing red light. Federal and local inquiries opened into the accident.
