In St. Paul Minnesota the 1800 head cattle consignments show slaughter steers up to 50 higher and hogs steady to 50 higher amid trucking shortages. Cows and bulls hold, vealers steady. calves and lambs vary with firming demand across weights and classes.

Louis Bellefy 75 of Bagley died in Clearwater Memorial Hospital with burial at Rice Lutheran Church Cemetery. Survivors and services details listed, with local clergy officiating.
The Bemidji Chamber Retail Trade Committee outlines summer plans for the Bemidji Fishing Derby now including muskies, with prizes such as a canoe and shirts, and a proposed $500 refrigerated display. The Joint Religious Legislative Committee sponsors its second Religious Advocacy Day in St Paul on February 8. Several hundred Minnesotans from across the state will meet at Hotel St Paul to press five issues including Governmental Ethics Criminal Justice Rural Life Human Rights and Health.
Oscar Erickson of Bemidji forfeited a 15 dollar bond for no current license tag on a fish house. Richard Riley of Bemidji pleaded guilty and was fined 15 dollars for the same offense. John Dunbar of Bemidji also forfeited a 15 dollar bond. Judicial Officer Phillip D. Nelson presided.
