Tax sources for state and county highway salaries in Beltrami County

Beltrami County uses two main funds for highway salaries. The county roads and bridges fund, funded by mill levies, covers 35 percent of salaries including maintenance. State aid funds, from gas taxes excise taxes on tires and license fees, cover 65 percent.
