Fryer brothers skip preliminary hearing in Iowa killings

Three Fryer brothers charged with four counts of murder in the November 17 slayings of four South Dakota teenagers will go directly to district court in Rock Rapids Iowa. Allen Fryer James and David face $400000 bonds and are to appear before Judge E F Kennedy next Thursday. James remains jailed in Sioux Falls serving a 90 day sentence for attempted grand larceny awaiting transfer.

Post Office in Bemidji Schedules Monday Hours

Postmaster Harold Fruetel says the Bemidji Post Office will follow a Saturday schedule on Monday December 31 with counter hours 8 30 to 10 am for parcels and stamps. Normal city and rural mail delivery occurs. The office closes all day Tuesday January 1 1974.

Simon sets tough regulations for oil products distribution control

Home fire leaves McKeig family with nothing but hope

Seven to be arraigned in Cass Lake jail break case

Seven persons face arraignment in Cass County Court over a jail break at Cass Lake early Thursday. Police say four men forced entry, released three prisoners, stole guns, and sparked a four hour chase before all seven were jailed in Walker pending arraignment.
