Paul Bunyan Rural Telephone Cooperative will stage its annual meeting April 25 at Northome Town Hall at 7 30 p m A luncheon served by the Northome WEWW Auxiliary Free charter bus may run from Bemidji at 6 14 p m with stops at Turtle Club Turtle River and Tea Strike Members may call Bemidji for details and confirmation Ballots on proposed amendments to Articles of Incorporation and By Laws have been mailed to patrons Incumbent directors Ole May and Lloyd Nesseth are listed for District No 4 with other elections in Poposky and Lake Ponemat A grand prize of six months residential installation free rent will be awarded plus about fifteen other prizes Doors open at 7 p m for registration Plan to attend.

Bagley Coop reelects directors at annual meeting

Bagley Cooperative Oil Association re elected George Christofferson Shevlin and Harold Kvande to three year terms at the Tuesday meeting held at the Bagley American Legion Hall. Spencer Larson led the session as Art Hopke read a year end financial report showing sales of 1 072 350 30 and net margins of 66 055 95. The board fee increase to 10 per meeting plus ten cents a mile was approved. Willis Eken was unable to attend while Roger Moe spoke on current legislative issues.

Ward to distribute 1976 Canadian Olympic tickets

Montgomery Ward will exclusively handle complete event schedules and order forms for the 1976 Canadian Summer Olympics through its stores. Dale Nevalainen of Bemidji Ward’s announced Ward's Selection as the exclusive distributor. First U S tickets go on sale May 15, 1975 for the July 17 to August 1, 1976 Games.

Savings League decries 8 percent usury cap impact in Minnesota

Minnesota savings and loan group says the 8 percent usury limit costs at least 232 million dollars and 5 475 jobs annually. The executive vice president cites 22 million in federal housing funds at 8.25 8.5 percent and 99 million dollars in Minnesota savings sent to other states. He argues up to 149 million could stay in Minnesota with higher caps, while lawmakers debate raising the limit.

Cass County Adopts Wide Sanitary Ordinance

Cass County launches a county wide sanitary ordinance effective April 1 requiring installers to obtain an Installer's Permit and post a $2000 bond. Landowners must apply through the local Deputy Zoning Officers or Cass County Zoning Office in Walker. Violations face up to 90 days jail or a $380 fine. Contact the Zoning Office for details.
