Bemidji City Council discussed objections to a proposed sewage treatment facility in Bemidji and Frohn Townships. Citizens Environmental Association urged moving the site citing impacts on taxes, farms, homes, groundwater, property values, roads, tourism, insects, and runoff.

A bus carrying 21 people spun off a snow covered highway near Marion Minnesota killing four and injuring several. Victims were Gary Running Janet Bartmann Barbara Borquist and Sister Shirley Stepker. Two hospitalized and one in satisfactory condition with a hand injury. Authorities said none of the 17 who sought medical care suffered serious injuries.
