A Republican delegate convention in Republic County Kansas will meet at the Bellville courthouse on August 1876 at 10:00 AM to elect delegates to the state convention in Topeka. Delegates come from each township with alternates and primary meetings are urged for July 29 at 2:00 PM.
Rev A D Laughlin of Mé will deliver a preparatory lecture Saturday evening and preach Sabbath at 11 o'clock with the Lord's Supper to follow. He will also preach in Scotch Plans as Dr M of Sunday. Five young ladies were drawn last Sunday near St Joe Mo after a boating accident. The Congressional Committee met on the 25th and fixed the convention at Adileen. Democrats in St Louis charge Benatér Boutwell with forcing balances in public accounts while the Treasury Secretary. A Finance Committee report says no changes have been made in the books.
