New York April 12 William K Vanderbilt's Idle Hour country house at Oakdale L I was totally destroyed by fire late yesterday afternoon. The fire began in the cellar about 3 45 am and in an hour the mansion and fittings were lost. W K Vanderbilt Jr and his bride occupied the house with 32 or 15 servants all escaped. The couple left for New York on an early train. Total loss is about 250000.

Willis Avenue Bridge Collapse Kills Four on Harlem River

Cattle Slaughter After Tuberculin Tests At Wooster Farm
Eleven cattle and four hogs were slaughtered at the Ohio agricultural experiment station farm in Wooster. All but two cattle reacted to the tuberculine test. autopsies showed tuberculosis in most.
