Boston defeated New York in ten innings to claim the world baseball title. The game stayed tied through seven innings before Boston plated two runs in the tenth while New York managed one. New York had a run in the third. Boston tied it in the seventh.
Clinton Hovious, who shot Frank Joed over two weeks ago, was released on a 550 dollar bond this morning per Bloomington World. Todd’s condition improves. Noveeus faces assault and battery with intent to kill instead of murder. If Todd dies, charges could rise. Bond supporters included Charles Hinkle, Charles Lawrence, Julian Wentworth, Albert Seward, and William Hughes. Prosecutor Louden urged 1000 dollars but Judge Wilson fixed 550 after Attorney Miers’ plea.
Nearly seven thousand five hundred people witnessed the arrival of the Twenty third United States infantry in Salem Tuesday morning. More than six hundred school children joined the parade to escort the soldiers to the fair ground where they pitched camp at 10:30. James Rayle, formerly at Jeffersonville reformatory for wrecking a Vandalia train near Greencastle, was Tuesday sentenced to two to fourteen years after pleading guilty to attempting to assault Mrs. Wil lam Stevens east of Bloomington on Monday afternoon. Her screams drew help and Rayle was captured as he tried to flee toward a train bound for Indianapolis.
The Republican County Central Committee met last Monday to consider campaign business. It unanimously resolved not to put a Republican judicial ticket on the ballot.
Relatives located a bright faced four year old boy wandering on West 13th Street Wednesday. Officers Cline and Clark took him into custody after he cried and could not say his name or home. A relative was found in town and the boy was sent to his home on South J Street.

Mrs John Wells and Mrs R E Dale hosted a Tuesday afternoon gathering at West 14th street attended by friends. Gilbert Bartley and Miss Mabel B. Freed were married Tuesday evening at 8 oclock in the Englewood home of Louis Kern. Rev. Owen of the First Baptist church officiated. Both natives of the city, they are well known and popular.
William Snoddy, brother of Tobe Snoddy, is scheduled for trial on November 18 in Monroe Circuit Court. Snoddy resides on a Salt Creek Township farm, southeast of Bloomington. The state will not have aid from three special attorneys once used by Governor Marshall. Snoddy retains his current counsel.
Local police on Tuesday ordered new regulation blue winter overcoats from Louisville. The coats, described as nifty, will be issued to officers within a few days.
Oscar Johnson who escaped from the county jail Tuesday returned late Tuesday night acting as a trusty. He surprised Sheriff Sitter by appearing and the Sheriff refused reinstatement and Johnson was jailed to serve out his time.
Col and Mrs V V Williams traveled to Indianapolis to visit their son John D Williams and family. They plan to visit daughter Mrs Oscar Hartley and family at Lebanon before returning.
Ysaac Rush of the northern city area suffered a painful right thumb mash at Ingalls mill on Wednesday. No bones were broken but the hand will be out of use for a period.
At Tuesday night city council meeting an ordinance authorized a $25000 bond issue to fund improvements to the water works. The new east side sewer discussion covered right of way issues and court condemnation was briefly considered.
Louis Sears, an inmate of the county poor farm, has been declared insane by a city medical board. He was quietly moved to the Madison Hospital for the Insane after boarding the train with Superintendent Tyree and Joel Hobbs.
